My first try making Malay traditional dessert, kuih keria (fried sweet potato doughnut). Failed miserably. haha. I bought 2 sweet potatoes and I thought I will make about 10 pieces of kuih keria with the 2 potatoes but when I’m mixing the boiled potatoes with flour, I think I can make about 30 kuih keria. For today, I only made 5 pieces because I’m too tired to finish the rest of the dough. but looking at the result of my cooking, I might just throw away the rest. 3 out of 5 are burned out and all fives are really hard inside. It’s suppose to be soft and shape like doughnuts, but mine is what I called shapeless rock doughnuts. However I really enjoyed the process of making it because it brings back the memory of me making pancakes back in college for housemates. My pancakes too were as hard as rocks..haha. I shall be careful in the amount of flour i’m using in the future. The flour is the key. It’s really simple Syafiqah! it’s really simple ( ok..now I remember the lady who kept saying it’s really simple to me in accg323 tute $%N@IAk#dj@*!!) I’m not going to throw away the 5 pieces, altho it’s really hard but it’s still edible ( I believe at least :P) xoxo.
